A Telluride Fall

The weather was ever-changing that day, with clouds drifting in and out, and sometimes rain and snow. This photo became a Photo of the Day at Shutterbugs for November 10, 2005 and at Photo-Of-The-Day.com for November 8th.

Fall Leaves on Snow

The leaves of aspen and geranium were nicely set off against the first good snow of the season. Photo-Of-The-Day.com gave it honors for November 4, 2005.

Jason at 3 Months

Jason is really a strong little fellow. This was one pose that I really wanted to get with him, and thankfully he obliged. The portrait was a winner at Photo-Of-The-Day.com on September 29, 2005.

Layered Foliage

Taken on Ohio Pass near Gunnison. I was doing some grand scenics, which were nice, but then decided I wanted a longer view of the colors and heights, with a touch of a mountain in the background. It was honored at Photo-Of-The-Day.com on October 11, 2005.

Sunset, Paradise Divide

One evening I went up alone to a high pass called the Paradise Divide. It truly is Paradise. This sunset became my favorite image of my whole 9-day trip. The image was the Photo of the Day at Steve's Digicams on October 1, 2005.

The Chasm

Chasm Falls yielded this black-and-white image, which became a winner Photo-Of-The-Day.com on October 8, 2005.

Clouds At Summit Lake

Mt. Evans shelters this glacial cirque and lovely lake. the image was featured on Photo-Of-The-Day.com on October 8, 2005.

Colorado Aspen Color

One of the prettiest stands of aspen is on McClure Pass near Redstone, Colorado. I am always drawn to scenes with reds and oranges in them, like this one. It was the Scenic Photo of the Day at Imagestation on October 17, 2005, at Photo-Of-The-Day.com on October 6th, and at Photoshowdown on October 12th.

Fractured

My son shares a moment with my grandson on their very first fishing trip together. The image was the Photo of the Day at Imagestation on April 28, 2005, at Bestfoto on May 1st, at Photo-Of-The-Day.com on October 5th,and was a Finalist at Betterphoto for the month of April, 2005.

Rocky Mountain Elk Couple

Two friends joined me for a fantastic day filled with wildlife and scenery in Rocky Mountain National Park. Things were really hopping with the elk, which were in the mating season. This pair was the Shutterbugs Animals Photo of the Day on October 13, 2005, at Bestfoto on October 1st, at Photoshowdown on October 6th and at Photo-Of-The-Day.com on September 25th.

Capturing Randy's Soul

Randy's father gave me perhaps the best compliment I've ever received about a photo, when he said that I had captured his son's soul in these photos. The portrait was the People Photo of the Day at Shutterbugs for the month of September 27, 2005 and at Photo-Of-The-Day.com on September 21st.

Ghost Town Girl

Lindsay in the town of Tincup. We found this old historic cabin, which turned out to be perfect for some of Lindsay's senior photos. The portrait was the Photo of the Day at Bestfoto on September 25, 2005 and at Photo-Of-The-Day.com on September 19th.

Parry's Primrose By the Stream

I really like the bright pink color of this flower that grows in the high country of Colorado. It was the a winner at Photo-Of-The-Day.com on September 17, 2005.

Nokhu Crags in Black and White

These rugged crags on Cameron Pass became the Scenic Photo of the Day at Bestfoto on September 7, 2005.

Moonrise At the Garden

A beautiful sky was set off the by the red rocks of Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. The image was the Scenic Photo of the Day at Shutterbugs on September 1, 2005, and at Bestfoto on September 2nd.

Wry Look

A mountain goat gave me this unusual look early one morning. The black-and-white was a Photo of the Day at Bestfoto on August 24, 2005.

Send Your Love

My grandson Aiden kisses his unborn younger brother. The photo was the People Photo of the Day at Bestfoto on July 28, 2005.

Barn Owl

This resident of the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program posed for us one morning. It was the Animals Photo of the Day at Bestfoto on June 6, 2005 and at Photoshowdown on June 14th.

Windblown

The wind chill on top of 14,270-foot Mt. Evans was -13 degrees (that's Fahrenheit). I was all bundled up in my heaviest winter coat, fleece hat, gloves, and wool socks. This guy had his own wool to keep him warm. He became a Photo of the day at Photoshowdown for June 14, 2005 and at Shutterbugs for June 5th.

Lofty Goals

I concentrated on closeups of this bald eagle at the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program. She was a Finalist at Betterphoto for May, 2005 and a Photo of the Day at Bestfoto on June 5th.
