Reach For The Moon

One evening with friends at Garden of the Gods, we saw many rock climbers on the beautiful red for?mations. This photo with the moon became a Photo of the Day at Imagestation for June 2, 2005.

Spirit of the Pow Wow

I thought this photo really portrayed the spirit of the NCIPA pow wow, which is full of movement, color, and sound. This one became a Finalist at Betterphoto for the month of April, 2005.

Aromatic Blossoms

Walking through the park on a spring day was an experience in the senses. These blossoms of wild crabapple were particularly aromatic and became the Animals Photo of the Day at Shutterbugs on May 14, 2005.

I only got off one shot of this baby fox, before he ducked back down in the den. This one became the Animals Photo of the Day at Shutterbugs on May 12, 2005 and at Photoshowdown on May 21st.

Elk River Barn

Located near Steamboat Springs, this photogenic barn became a Photo of the Day at Shutterbugs on May 1, 2005.

Winningest Coach in Colorado History

I photographed the Class 3A high school boy's basketball championship game. Dick Katte, the coach, had been at Denver Christian High School for 45 years, and had won 771 games. It was the sixth time his team had taken the state championship. I present to you a tribute to an inspiring man who has made a difference in so many lives. This photo was a Photo of the Day at Bestfoto on March 21, 2005.

Snarls

I find it such a challenge to get behavioral shots of animals, particularly when two or more are interacting. So I was delighted to capture this moment between the lion male and female at the Denver Zoo. The photo took the Animals Photo of the Day honors at Shutterbugs on April 1, 2005 and a finalist at Betterphoto for the month of March, 2005.

Berthoud Eagle

In the winter of 2005, a large gathering of bald eagles arrived at Loveland Reservoir, near Berthoud, Colorado. This eagle, flying in front of Long's Peak, was the Animals Photo of the Day at Bestfoto for March 25, 2005.

Intimacy

After doing the standard realistic shots of a Christmas cactus, I wanted to do some very soft, very close images. I spent hours exploring variations in this one bloom. Here are one of my favorites. It became a finalist at Betterphoto for the month of February, 2005.

In All His Finery

Imagine my excitement when I got to see this mandarin duck, who had returned to a Littleton Pond, as he has for the past few years. He was a finalist at Betterphoto for the month of February, 2005.
