1999 and later on Digital Photography World on January 3,
2000.

Mt.
Bierstadt from Guanella Pass

1999. The location was the trailhead leading up to Mt. Bierstadt
from Guanella Pass. Bierstadt had been sprinkled with snow.
The mountain is 14,060 feet in altitude. The jagged formation
just to the left of Bierstadt is Sawtooth Ridge. The vista

Grains
Touched by the Sun
- Walking
along a path by the lake, I was looking down to make sure
I wasn't stepping on any snakes or anything. These tiny curled
grains caught my eye. They were quite low to the ground, so
I sat down on the path to frame them. This photo won the photo
of the day honors for the Macro category on the Digital
Photo Contest site on October 7, 1999.

Playing
in the Fountain
- I
ran through this computerized fountain in Denver's City Park
and got soaked. After a while, I took my camera into an inner
circle of the fountain, which is kind of a "safe"
place. Only got a few drops on the lens, tee-hee...this photo
won the photo of the day honors for the Action / Journalism
category on the Digital
Photo Contest site.

Windmill
in a Stormy Sky

admire this windmill along Parker Road (Highway 83), and often
stop to take pictures of it. This day, the clouds were changing
rapidly as I took the shots, and rain began to fall from the
darker ones. The photo was selected as the Photo of the Day
for May 22, 1999, at the Digital Photography World site.
