Cirque
Reflections
While it was 98 degrees on the plains, I escaped to a still-frozen
Summit Lake, at altitude 12,700 feet. A small tarn had started
to melt and provided reflections of the glacial cirque of Mt.
Evans. The image was the Shutterbugs
Scenic Photo of the Day on June 16, 2004. |

Don't
Run
If you ever see a cougar in the wild looking like this, the expert
advice is not to run. Instead, one is supposed to lift up your jacket
and arms over your head to make yourself look big. This captive resides
at a wild animal facility and was a finalist in the Betterphoto
May 2004 contest. |
|
Canada
Goose Goslings
I love the number three, so was particularly taken with this trio
of goslings. They

in the Animals Category in the Betterphoto
May 2004 contest. |

Plunging
Into the Caldera
There is a huge volcanic area formed long ago in the area of North
Clear Creek Falls. Today we get to enjoy this view as a result;
it is one of the biggest and most impressive waterfalls in Colorado,
as it plunges a hundred feet off the cliffs into the caldera below.
This photo was the Bestfoto
Black and White Photo of the Day on June 10, 2004. |
