Red
Mountain Pass in Fall
One

A
Ducky Sunset
The
summer of 2002 brought wildfires, including the Hayman fire, during
which this sunset was taken. Atmospheric particulates cause the
vibrant colors. The photo was taken just as the sun was about
to set and just as a bird crossed the bright reflection. I later
found out that the bird was probably a grebe but somehow the title
"A Grebey Sunset" just didn't fit. It was a finalist
in the Betterphoto.com
June 2002 contest.

The
Interior
We
have no idea how these incredibly big and unusual red poppies
got in our yard (a bird?). They have serrated edges and only last
for a very short time. This macro was a finalist in the d-store
