The
Red Mountains
Along
Red Mountain Pass between Silverton and Ouray, there are actually
three of these mountains. Here you have just a bit of Red Mountain
#1 at the left of the pano. In the middle is Red Mountain #2,
and near the right is Red Mountain #3. I find them to be such
striking peaks, especially in fall and with a sugar coating of
snow on the top. This panoramic was a finalist in the December,
2002 contest at betterphoto.com. |

Rime
Ice
On
our way to go skiing at Copper Mountain, there was a lot of fog
steaming off of Lake Dillon. It had condensed and frozen on the
trees. We decided right then that we were going to be late hitting
the slopes. This shot of the beautiful rime ice was the Scenic
Photo of the Day on bestfoto.com
for December 30, 2002. |

Wild
Donkeys of Cripple Creek
One
wouldn't ordinarily think of donkeys as wild. But these donkeys
roam freely around the Cripple Creek area, and are oftentimes
found right in town. They are direct descendants of donkeys that
the miners used underground to haul their gold ore. They were
finalists in the d-store
Fall 2002 Contest. |
